Few Important points –
You can consider Elite and Bracket 1 colleges for any branch, because the brand value that they provide are impeccable. (If specifically, Computer Science is your branch preference, you can consider IIIT Hyderabad in Bracket 1)
Now what do I mean by Brand Value?
Brand value is an international or national repute that the college had established since its foundation. This is something, you will carry throughout your life. And What do you get from it?
See, apart from good peers, great college life, great placements….there are some of the things that are not much talked about.
(a) If you are going for an MBA (IIM A,B,C) after your bachelors from these colleges, you will be highly preferred in placements (specially Consulting).
(b) If you want to do Masters from highly reputed universities of the world like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Imperial College of London, Oxford, Cambridge etc. You will surely have an upper edge over other candidates from INDIA (Although you need to have excellent academics too)
(c) Last but not the least, the quality of exposure that you would be getting in these colleges in terms of Internships abroad, high class research projects and different fellowships are impeccable.
- For chemical engineering, ICT should be considered to be at par with Bracket 2.
- For Aerospace Engineering, IIST, Trivandrum should be considered at par with Bracket 1.
- VIT Vellore is placed lowered in bracket 3 due to its huge batch size and non-transparent mode of admission There would be extreme high competition due to a big batch size. Although the college has beautiful campus and very active clubs.
- DTU and NSIT are highly ranked due to very good placements, brand value and locational advantage.
- DAIICT provides BTech in Information and Communication Technology (Flagship program) and the college has exceptional placements. For BTech (ICT) it can be considered in bracket 2.
- LIT Nagpur is also a very good college for chemical engineering, adhesives technology and other related specializations.
Special Note –
We have not considered ROI as a parameter for this list. Although most colleges have similar fee structure (not a very huge difference) but fees for BITS are bit high as compared to other colleges.
We have considered all the above mentioned parameters equally to classify these colleges in those brackets. If we had put some of the colleges in a lower bracket, then they might be lacking in one or the other parameters.
Please do not hold any grudges against us, if your college is not in this list. We have tried to compile every college in these brackets to give you a very clear idea.
